NEW YORK- Police shot and wounded an armed man during a robbery attempt in a day care center that had $100,000 in drug money in its basement on Saturday morning.
At first, police were under the impression that Special Moments Daycare was targeted for the holdup because it was payday, but soon found that the day care center was a hotspot for drugs and money.
Special Moments Daycare owners were arrested on Saturday after ten pounds of marijuana was found in the basement of the center.
Children were napping as two men broke through the center. Once police reached the scene, they fired three rounds at one of the intruders. Twelve children and four of the Special Moments staff were rushed to safety and given pizza.
