WAITE PARK, Minn. –The United States Postal Service is thinking about closing Waite Park’s Postal Office to merge with the office in west St. Cloud. These two post offices are among the other 24 Minnesota post offices and 3,200 nation wide that are considering being closed because of the expected $6 billion loss in postal revenue.
No Postal Service employees would be laid off in the result of the closing of the location and they will be reassigned in accordance with the postal service labor contracts.
25,000 postal employees have already been cut this year. 80 district offices have decreased to 75 and USPS has postponed building projects in consideration with decreasing revenues.
