ST. PAUL, Minn. –– Ariel Wade, White Castle enthusiast, was “madder than fish grease” after the staff refused to serve her. Wade was refused service because she rode her electric mobility scooter through the drive-thru.
Wade, who uses her scooter due to degenerative arthritis in her back, argues that this discriminates against people who can’t drive. Wade could not access the dining room as it closes every night at 11 p.m., which forced her to try to get her burgers through the drive-thru. She brought her case to the Minnesota Disability Law Center.
