The Flaming Lips released their new album, Embryonic, October 13.

The band, The Flaming Lips, are known for their unique music arrangements.

Embryonic, the newest album was released October 13.

For years the Flaming Lips have been producing original music, Embryonic tops stays true to that tradition.

The hit single “She Don’t Use Jelly” put The Flaming Lips in the spotlight.

They have released more than 10 studio albums dated the oldest at 1986.

Their newest release covers many genres; alternative rock, indie rock, neopsychedelia, space rock, and experimental rock.

The album has been released in a few different versions. There is a standard version containing two discs with a total 27 tracks. Also, there is the iTunes Bonus Track Version and the Deluxe Edition of the album.

Main producers of the album are The Flaming Lips, Dave Fridmann, and Scott Booker.

There are a few interesting tracks that managed to catch my ears. One of the tracks is “Convinced of the Hex”.

The introduction of the song starts with an unique electric guitar strumming and a melody of a pluck bass guitar. Buzzing sound effects is incorporated in the track.

During the verse, the vocals are heard with accompaniment from rhythm from the intro with extra highhats and rock snare drums.

During the bridge of the tracks, instrumental sound dominates the track.

Another song worth mentioning is Aquarius Sabotage. Wth the length of two minutes, it does not have a typical song structure.

This is a fast paced instrumental song which starts with an intense drum beat.

In the middle part of the track, it changes into violin patterns and soft sound effects.

The song ends with robotic vocals effects.

There are songs that feature other artist, for instance the track titled “Gemini Syringes” featuring Thorsten Wormann and Karen O.

The song started with a soft and gentle plucking sound from a electric bass guitar and a speech synthesizer effect. Later piano synthesizer is being served as the melody of the track.

The vocals are being altered with a certain effects. Strings instruments can also be heard throughout the song.

Overall the album is different and unique compared to other popular artists. The album offers fast and slow tempo songs with strong or soft rock music.

For example, a great combination of drums and many other instruments that is not being heard often and songs without vocal accompaniments.

This is definitely signature for the Flaming Lips. They have now created an new album that is fresh for the musical market.

It should be added to the shopping list for listeners who willing to listen to rock music with a unique style and special music arrangements.
