St. Cloud police look for drunk drivers

Ten police officers, 100 cars pulled over, zero DWI arrests. Stearns County police and the state patrol participated in the first Stearns County DWI saturation on Division Street Friday. The road between the Sauk River and Mississippi River was heavily patrolled with police officers wearing bright yellow vests looking for drunk drivers.

Tompkins makes TV funny again

Since heading to Los Angeles in the mid-90s to pursue his acting career, VH1's resident funny man Paul F. Tompkins has managed to make quite a name for himself. "I had been doing stand-up for about eight years in Philadelphia and then moved out to L.A. to get into TV and film and everything," said Tompkins, who only had a few hundred dollars and determination on his side for the move.

Tennis impresses at NCC championship

Just like his players, tennis coach Jerry Anderson is serving aces in the standings. The men and women's teams both made their cases that they belong in the NCAA tournament after two solid performances at the NCC championship in Sartell. The men's team dominated the opposition, scoring 34 team points and beating second-place Winona State, who scored 26 points.

Alnwick is a study abroad program unique to SCSU. When studying in Alnwick, England students live in a castle located in the English countryside for an entire semester with 30 to 60 other SCSU students.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - According to a recent survey of 504 SCSU students conducted in March and April, diversity, hate crimes, race relations and safety are the biggest challenges the university faces. SCSU randomly selected close to 3 percent of the student population for the survey, with 87 percent of the students saying they felt SCSU was "on the right track," the highest percentage of 'yes' responses in the past six years.

Coach of the Year

What a difference a year makes for SCSU's wrestling team and second-year head coach Steve Costanzo. Costanzo has turned around a wrestling program that was on life support before he came to town. This season, Costanzo's team finished in 12th place at the NCAA Division II championships and had a 13-2 overall record.
