Issue date: 4/30/07 Section: Briefly
NEW YORK, N.Y. -- In Saturday's NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings used their seventh overall pick to draft former Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson.
The Vikings ignored skeptics and drafted the oft-injured Peterson, hoping he will add the big play capability to an offense that struggled to score points last season.
Peterson scored 41 touchdowns in his 31 career games at Oklahoma.
