Man mistakes peacock as vampire

New York, N.Y. -- Thursday morning a peacock wandered into a fast-food restaurant parking lot and was attacked by a man who insisted the bird was a vampire.
Animal control authorities said the bird was beaten so fiercely most of its tail feathers fell out.
The peacock, an old male, was being fed by employees of the restaurant when the man appeared. Employees called police, but the man ran when he saw them. Authorities are still looking for him, saying he is in his teens or early 20s.
