A grab bag of stoner rock, good ole country, a striped infamous duo and the first idol to make it to the big time all have pieced together musical treasures for the masses to absorb during the sun soaked months.

The summer of 2007 has proven itself with four epic releases that need to be taken from the shelves and played on repeat until the snow takes over once again, but they also might have enough flare to keep the flakes away for an extra month or two.

The White Stripes

"Icky Thump"

This ex-married couple has made waves through nearly all of the musical circuits, and with their new release, "Icky Thump," the White Stripes have outdone themselves once again.

The blues influenced, yet fire spitting concoction of triumph is forced onto one solid album that outshines most works in the past decade.

Whether someone is jamming to the hard slamming guitar on "Little Cream Soda," or bathing in the deep emotional side of "Catch Hell Blues," this album lets listeners take a lick from the rhythmic lollipop.

From the start, "Icky Thump" roars masterpiece into the mic. A perfect album to submerge oneself in pure rock with enough room to thrash for weeks to come.

Kelly Clarkson

"My December"

She may be looked at as the "American Idol" by the media, but this woman has a voice and attitude that will carry on for many generations after the paparazzi are six feet under.

Kelly Clarkson's newest release "My December" is her most vicious hard rocking and emotionally influential album thus far. Her first two releases were much more mellow and delicate. But this album shows Clarkson's true sensitive side, with the album making the listener know Clarkson is a real person who will not stand up for the losers lovers of the world.

Her voice was put to a challenge on this album, which is obvious, though Clarkson passed the test with flying colors, hitting each note with grace and supremacy.

This is by far the most "rock" album from Clarkson, though her slippery sexy cat approach makes her still the girl next door America fell in love with a few years ago. The lyrics show she possibly is searching for love as the tabloids have said.
