Gas prices shoot above $3 mark
Issue date: 7/9/07 Section: Briefly
ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Fourth of July came with an after shock when gas prices soared as high as $3.15 per gallon in some cities.
Saturday, a survey of 10 stations in the area showed a 20-cent spread in prices for a gallon of unleaded gasoline. Phillips 66 station on Division Street and Gas it 4 Less on Third Street North were the only two reported under $3.
According to the Associated Press, the rise is being blamed on the recent closure of a refinery in Kansas.
