Twin Cities' volunteers out in force

WASHINGTON, U.S. -- A recent government study being released Monday shows Mid-westerners are more likely to volunteer their time than are people elsewhere in the United States.

More than four in 10 adults volunteer in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area; these are the highest rates in the nation.

The Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency, used Census Bureau data to determine the statistics.
