Shaun Kroll, from Granite City Entertainment, is excited for the event and explained how it came to be.
"There has been a lack of all ages events in town recently, and the music scene is starting to struggle," Kroll said. "Mike Thienes and I got together with an idea to throw a show with music and video premiers."
The live acts range from the worlds of rock and hip hop and DJ sets. The artists performing will be the rock group Sick Machine, table scratches provided by DJ Bunk1, rock act Sick of Sarah, a DJ set by Postures, hip hop set provided by Liquid and a punk show by Children 18:3, who recently got signed to Tooth and Nail Records.
The eclectic mix was chosen to showcase more diversity in the local music scene.
"I've also worked with these bands before for a variety of events," Kroll said.
There will also be a live skateboarding demo. Melissa Reubl, from The Youth Shelter Supply, spoke about the skating events.
"There will be both pro and amateur skateboarders for the demo," Reubl said.
Not that skateboarding will be the only feature. Reubl also talked about the video premiers that will be debuted at the "Granite City Riot."
"There will be four snowboard video premiers and one skateboarding video. There is also a raffle for a CAPITA snowboard," Reubl said.
There will also be a special guest coming out for the festival.
Reubl said professional snowboarder Bjorn Leines will be attending. Leines rides for Rome Volcom and Celtic.
Also on the event board are a couple videos. The films will be BALD E GAL Smorgasbord, Face First Productions Here Goes Nuthing and CAPITA First Kiss. These will mainly be snowboard and skateboard flicks.
Rome will also be premiering a new video.
"It's f--king awesome," she said.
Other activities will include volleyball, dunk tanks, ping pong, mini golf and a hacky sack contest. There will be something for anybody and everybody.
The event is all ages, and food and beverage concessions will be provided. It will run from 3 to 10 p.m. and will be thrown at Molitors Fish Haven five miles north of St. Cloud.
Tickets are available at The Youth Shelter Supply, Electric Fetus and Wingnut Tattoo. The first 200 will receive a free T-shirt.
Kroll said there is a limited amount of tickets available, so he advised people to buy them early. He said there is no guarantee any tickets will be available at the gate
