www.jam.mn is a Web site people are finding to be a great source of entertainment in music and arts in the St. Cloud area.

It's a dynamic, fun and suitable Web site that primarily provides information on up and coming artists and musicians, both local and ntational.

The Web site is filled with links to other Web sites including the St. Cloud Times and weather sites. It keeps users up to date with upcoming performances in local bars and clubs.

Web site creator Adam Hammer is the St. Cloud Times arts and entertainment editor. Hammer said he officially launched the Web site Aug. 30, along with the St. Cloud Rocks album.

John Bodette, St. Cloud Times executive editor, said the Web site is another way to bring local music to local audiences.

Hammer said the idea behind the Web site was to allow local bands the opportunity to be heard. He said he realized a lot of local bands were just project bands that weren't getting stage experience. This site would enable local bands that are just in the works a chance to air their music.

Bodette said the Web site design was created to be edgy, cool and to highlight areas such as the entertainment listings and sample music of local artist.

Hammer said the feedback so far has been really good.

Sophomore student Michael Olsen, 18, said being a fan of local music makes this Web site a great source to find out whose coming to town.

The Web site also features articles on the lives and activities of local artists. Hannah Streamer, SCSU junior, 23, said it is cool to know what your favorite local artist is up to and where they are going to be performing.

"I can look up where my favorite bands are playing, and I don't have to call a bar or go bar hopping," Streamer said.

Streamer also said the cool feature of the site is that new releases from local artists can be heard on the A-List.

JAMMN also sorts music according to genre, which makes it easier for users who have specific music interests to find. Streamer said because she is such a big fan of Midwest country and rock music, this Web site is perfect for her.
