WHITE EARTH, Minn. -- Wednesday morning, American Indian activist Vernon Bellecourt was laid to rest at the White Earth Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota.
Bellecourt died of complications of pneumonia Saturday in Minneapolis at age 75.
He was born Oct. 17, 1931, exactly 76 years to the day he was buried.
