Belichick and Pats get unfair treatment by NFL and media

Bill Belichick is not Darth Vader.

Despite popular belief, Belichick is not the Mephistopheles of the NFL.

After attaining a record of 8-0 by a margin of 204 points, many are condemning Belichick and the Patriots organization.

Here's an idea for teams to try. Next time the Patriots start running up the score, stop them.

Here's an idea I hope my Colts will employ this weekend: instead of whining in post-game conferences about how evil the Patriots are, try stopping Brady from throwing all over their shoddy secondary.

The Redskins are arguably one of the best teams in the NFC, which is kind of like being best player on the Timberwolves, and still the Patriots laid a 52-7 beat down on them.

Going into what is being called a "Super Bowl XLI 1/2," the Patriots are being labeled as the "bad boys" fighting a supposedly "saintly" Tony Dungy and the Indianapolis Colts.

Why? Take a walk down memory lane. All the way back to week one.

New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini formerly worked under Belichick. He knew Belichick stole signals. Guess what, everybody steals signals.

Even in college, if a middle linebacker hears the same audible every time a team dives through the one-hole, he's going to fill that hole a lot quicker the next time he hears it.

Everyone steals signals. The difference is Mangini cried to the press because his inferior Jets team got beat up by the vastly better Patriots squad. Now, like Barry Bonds in a steroids article, Belichick is getting in trouble for something literally everybody does.

Mr. Hoodie doesn't get mad, he gets even. Now that annoying former employee Mangini cried wolf, the talk was that the Patriot's previously indisputable dynasty was tainted. Media are calling all of their Super Bowl rings dirtied because of one incident.

So now, in case one of the most talented teams in the NFL needed any more motivation, they have it. The Patriots are out to prove a point.
