PARIS, France - A national transport strike slowed parts of France Wednesday as President Nicolas Sarkozy and labor unions met to discuss his plans for a small group of public sector workers.
He is trying to stop early retirement benefits for the group.
Wednesday morning, Paris transit workers joined the walkout, causing key commuter lines around the capital to shut down.
