The gospel of priests with child pornography issues
Issue date: 2/4/08 Section: Opinions
In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, you are being charged with 20 counts of possessing child pornography.
Hallelujah, yet another pedophile priest is to be locked up for having his computer's hard drive loaded full of lewd kid pictures.
Out of all the professions in the world, why does it seem that Catholic priests are the only ones who repeatedly get caught with their hand in the proverbial "child porn cookie jar?"
Just last week, a former St. Cloud priest who served in St. Nicholas and Pearl Lake was busted by law enforcement with a subtle 8,600 lewd pictures of underage kids doing things they shouldn't be. Our guess is that the priest was doing things he shouldn't have been with those pictures, too.
The Rev. John Lloyd Caskey, 53, was removed of his priestly duties Wednesday by Bishop John Kinney.
Caskey gave police permission to search his home and work computers after he was interviewed about "anonymous, obscene and suggestive" letters that had been sent to an 18-year-old male student.
On Thursday, Judge Gerald Seibel set bail at $10,000 and ordered the supposed man of God to have no contact with anyone under 18, no Internet access and no access to pornography.
With no children, child porn online and no child porn in print, how is this holy man supposed to get his kicks and urges fulfilled?
This leaves him nothing but his amazing imagination to help out with his amazing habit of satisfying himself to images of youngsters. The editorial board suggests a lobotomy to remove these potential mental images from his angelic brain.
Then again, removing the perverted, pedophilic part of this man's brain won't stop this holy Catholic child porn epidemic altogether. Perhaps castration?
Either way, this continuous trend of holy men - men who are supposed to follow the word and message of God and to remain celibate throughout their entire lives - who get their fancies tickled by nude young boys is disturbing, wrong and an extreme act of hypocritical heresy.
If these guys have some unchecked sexual frustration issues causing them to break down and surf the Web for some nudy pictures, why not be normal and look up some good old-fashioned, legal age porn?
Amen.
