LONG ISLAND, New York -- A 19th century stamp was sold at a Long Island auction for $1.2 million Saturday.

The stamp is one of only four known stamps of an 1869 printing that has an upside-down image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence according to the catalog from Philip Weiss Auction.

It was among 24 inverts in the auction.

It was a part of a collection that also had the famous "Inverted Jenny" stamps, which sold for $265,000.
