Most college students enjoy being fed for free. Thus, Atwood After Dark is a good a deal for students on a Friday night, especially when hamburgers, potato chips and soda are served.

The meal fit well with the rock 'n' roll theme for the event. The activities ranged from Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Guitar Hero, to a make your own T-shirt and make your own music video option. McKinley Place headlined the event along with the band Wingo.

Not very many students showed up to listen to the great music performed by McKinley Place, but the band played anyway, filling the ballroom with excellent and original music.

Those who did show up were enthusiastic, making themselves seem like a much larger audience.

The Minneapolis band often plays in the St. Cloud area with its range extending about as far as Hudson and Fargo.

The lines for the other activities were longer, ranging from five to 10 minutes. Some of the crafts being made were excellent, with several students making impressive Grateful Dead-esque T-shirts.

At the video games station, there were several stalwart players and the occasional person who tried their luck against the more experienced players.

Still, the games were maintained in a very loosely, non-competitive atmosphere that even made losing fun.
