Those of you who are worried about racism need to concentrate on the greater evil. If the use of UND’s nickname is the biggest problem facing racism, I think we’re doing pretty good.
White men came to this country, killed of most of the Natives and took their land. If you want to help the Natives, give back all the land that you and your families have to their rightful owners.
If UND can’t use the their nickname, I call for every athletic team with an ethnic group in their nickname to do the same. Do you see where this is going?
That means since I’m Irish I don’t want Notre Dame to use the Fighting Irish because somehow this is racist according to some. It has to work both ways. If the use of Native American names is racist, we need to change the names of numerous states, cities and lakes all over the United States.
You people need to stop being ridiculous. If UND’s mascot is your biggest problem, life must be going pretty good for you!
