Students say ‘Aloha’ to Karaoke

Janet Peterson and Jessica Twiest sing “Any Man of Mine” by Shania Twain during “Sing Your Winter Blues Away” karaoke night Wednesday in the Atwood Quarry. Peterson, coordinator, and Twiest, program adviser of the UPB spotlight committee, helped coordinate the event, which was aimed at helping students relieve any bouts of the winter blues with a little Hawaiian influence, including mock-tail beverages with umbrellas and Hawaiian gear to boot. The UPB spotlight committee sponsors other events throughout the year, as well, such as small coffeehouse-style performances.
