Dalai Lama admitted to hospital
The Dalai Lama was admitted to Lilawati Hospital in Bombay, India after a lump was detected in his stomach.
Earlier last week, he canceled engagements at a Tibetan Buddhist ceremony. Last Thursday he had to postpone his teachings before a group of followers at a special service. He explained that he would not be able to sit through the five-hour ritual.
After complaining of abdominal pain and fatigue on Sunday, he was flown to the hospital in Bombay. Blood tests and X-rays were performed and doctors expect to have the results back today.
Bombs cause explosions in Nigeria
An ammunition depot full of high-caliber bombs exploded in Nigeria’s capital of Lagos Sunday night.
The initial blast and the others that followed were caused by an accident at the Ikeja military base. The explosions caused extensive damage in the northern part of the city and caused windows to shatter at the airport six miles away. Panicked citizens were urged to stay clam as they fled into the streets.
Residents around the base were evacuated. All flights were canceled at the international airport. There has been no report on casualties.
