Students support Sept. 11 victims
The SCSU Bangladesh Student Association have organized a dance to raise money for the families of victims of Sept.11.
The event will take place from 8 p.m. until midnight on Feb.13 in the Atwood Ballroom. Preston and Paulzine, as well as a disc jockey, will provide music for the dance. One of the reasons for the dance is that the students of the association want to show their American pride.
"Being from a Muslim country, we want to make it very specific that this incident was not supported by all Muslims."said BSA program coordinator Shafiq Islam. "It is very important that we stand united against terrorism."
Tickets are $5 for SCSU and CSB/SJU students and $7 for the rest of the community. They will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Atwood Center info desk. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Saturday's snowfall causes accidents
Twenty-four accidents were reported to Stearns County Saturday as about 2 inches of snow caused treacherous driving conditions for many motorists. The accidents reported caused only minor property damages and injuries.
Because of the snowfall, the city of St. Cloud was ready to declare a snow emergency which would mean that illegally parked cars would be towed. The two inches that fell was not enough, though.
