Huskies split series

The SCSU women's ice hockey team split its weekend series with Bemidji State.

Roxy Stang powered the Huskies Friday by scoring four goals and a pure hat trick in the second period as the Huskies defeated the Beavers 6-3.

Erin McNamara then scored her first goal of the year at the 2:03 mark of the third period. Abby Cooper scored the other Huskies goal.

The Beavers jumped to a three-goal lead Saturday as the Huskies lost 5-3.

Stang scored two goals, including one in the third period to bring the Huskies within one.

The Huskies had a season-high 45 shots, including 25 in the first period.

The Huskies face UMD Friday and Saturday.
