Fingerhut develops new catalog
A number of employees at the Fingerhut plant in Mora began working on the corporation's new catalog about six weeks after the company had issued what it thought was its final version.
This move was a response to a letter of intent signed by businessman Peter Lytle, of Business Development Group Acquisitions, Inc., on Feb. 21 to buy the company from Federated, Inc. The letter is considered a positive sign, but it is nonbinding and it does not mean that the deal is closed, said Fingerhut spokesman Ben Saukko.
Federated is expected to announce whether Lytle and BDGA will finalize their purchase agreement sometime this week.
St. Cloud administrators testify in court
Some St. Cloud school district administrators, both current and former, testified at grand jury proceedings Wednesday in the Stearns County Courthouse.
The grand jury must decide if any administrators will be charged with crimes connected to the St. Cloud school district's Levy for Learning campaign in 1998. There is speculation that some head officials may have improperly approved of some campaign expenses.
In the grand jury trial, jury members are allowed to ask questions of the witnesses and 12 votes are needed to indict suspects. If indictments are returned, each individual defendant must appear in court.
