Virginia man indicted in 1996 murder
A possible suspect was finally found for the 1996 murder of Julianne Williams of St. Cloud and Lollie Winans of Unity, Maine.
Darrell Rice was charged with the crime by a grand jury on Wednesday in Charlottesville, Va. Officials believe that he intentionally killed the victims because of their sexual orientation.
The two women were murdered as they were hiking in Shenandoah National Park. The time of the killings was never pinpointed, but at the indictment on Wednesday, the date of the crime was set at sometime between May 24 and June 1.
Mesaba Airlines reinstates 2 flights
Mesaba Airlines of St. Cloud will add two more flights to the Twin Cities back on its list this summer.
The flights were cancelled previously due to nationwide cutbacks caused by the Sept. 11 attacks. Beginning June 7, the airport will again be back up to six arrivals and departures daily. The new 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. departures from St. Cloud will allow for smoother connections with more Northwest Airline flights out of Minneapolis-St. Paul said St. Cloud Regional Airport Director Brian Ryks.
The decision to add the flights was due to security improvements at the St. Cloud airport and nationwide. Passenger traffic at St. Cloud has increased since September.
