Regarding the recent proposed amendment changes: why don't you just leave it as is? If it already states the article in the MnSCU's constitution, why do you need to change it? Why don't you use OUR student dollars to do something that actually will help the students here at St. Cloud State? By amending the article, you are not resolving any confusion. How can you be confused about the article.
The article reads: "Student funded media shall not be subject to prior censorship nor shall the allocation process be used as a means of editorial control. Student funded media editors and managers shall not be suspended or removed from their position during the term of their office except for substantial and compelling reasons and under prescribed procedures. Student media editors and managers shall adhere to all laws relative to the media and to professional journalistic standards."
How is that confusing? It says that, you the student government, cannot remove them. Why do you have a problem with that. As far as I am concerned, if you remove someone from their office because you do not like what they are writing or letting be said, THAT IS CENSORSHIP. Why don't you focus your time on something that would help us. The student government always seems to focus on issues that would not benefit people that go to this school, rather to make North Dakota to change their mascot's name. YOU ARE HERE, WE ARE HERE. FOCUS ON HERE. Do something for the students for once.
