On Monday afternoon I went to class and heard the one thing that no college student wants to hear. Your major has been cut. I was shocked when I heard that the theater department was being eliminated. At first I was upset and confused because I didn't know what I was going to do next. I had no other majors in mind and I really can not afford to go to another school.
I think that it is ridiculous to cut out a department. I chose this school because it had a good theater department, but if it is cut then I have no reason to stay except for the cost, which is not going to help me in pursuing my career. I think that the students should have a say on if it stays or goes. This decision is going to greatly affect our futures and it needs to be carefully thought out.
I think that SCSU is a great college and I would love to stay here, but not if I cannot get the education that I want.
