The picture of the so-called American Dream has been around for quite a while and has been, is, and will be determining the course of life for most of us. Perhaps with the first settlers it was a pure dream that was the main driving force in the rugged conditions, but since then a lot has changed, and the American Dream has been corrupted, manipulated and used to take advantage of large groups of the population.
The American Dream has been turned by "corporate America" into a useful tool to squeeze even more from their employees and potential clients than they are now. I believe the time has come for a change in the way we think and even dream. That, of course, requires some strong actions towards a change to be taken in almost every area of our lives.
The major steps on a personal level that need to be taken in order to assure that the American Dream is within reach for everyone are, but not limited to, getting rid of all prejudice and stereotyping against any group of people; opening our minds to the world and thus realizing the reasoning behind what is happening around us' and, last but not least, making sure the American Dream stays alive.
