Heavy rain triggers flooding in Pope and Stearns counties

Heavy rains fell early Wednesday morning causing streets to flood in both Pope and Stearns counties, including severe flooding in St.Cloud.

Thunderstorms poured over three inches of rain in a very short period. SCSU reported at least four inches, all of which fell just before 6 a.m. Winds gusted up to reported speeds of 35 miles per hour.

Flooding occurred across town. There were numerous reports of stalled cars and accidents. The wind caused several power outages, downed lines. An estimated 6,400 Xcel customers were without power during the day.

Teenager dead, 2 others critically injured after road rage incident

A Wisconsin girl was killed and two others injured Wednesday when the occupants of two vehicles clashed in a fit of road rage.

Jennifer Mullhollam of New Richmond, Wis., died a the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Heather Potvin, 18, also of New Richmond and Abel LeBaron Jr., 20, of Burnsville were last listed in critical conditon at Regions Hospital in St.Paul.

The two vehicles and three others were involved in an accident on the the Interstate 35 eastbound.
