House approves bill allowing pilots to carry guns in the cockpit

The House has overwhelmingly approved a bill that would allow airline pilots to carry guns while in the cockpit.

However, the measure is not expected to go anywhere once in the Senate. The White House is opposed to the bill as well.

The bill was approved by a nearly three-to-one margain in the House and would allow an estimated 70,000 pilots to obtain and carry a gun, if they agree to undergo training.

The original bill was limited to about 1,400 pilots, but lawmakers revoked the limit.

California teen who was taped while being beaten files lawsuit

The California teenager, Donovan Jackson, who was caught on video tape being beaten by a police officer, has filed a suit against the city of Inglewood, Calif., Los Angeles County and the officers involved.

In the video, Jackson is seen handcuffed while beng slammed onto a car and punched by an officer. Jackson is black, while the officer who allegedly beat him is white. Officer Jeremy Morse has been suspended while the matter is being investigated.

The tape has been under constant reviewal and shows similarities to the Rodney King trial in 1991.
