Alumni bring Home of the Huskies to State Fair

The SCSU Alumni Association is sponsoring a booth at the Minnesota State Fair for the second year this August.
The "Home of the Huskies" booth, located in the southwest corner of the education building, will be home to many volunteers during the 12- day event, which runs from Aug. 22 through Sept. 2.
"After our remarkably successful booth last year, we would like to offer a variety of daily activities and exhibitions, combining learning and fun in order to get those at the State Fair excited about education, and enthusiastic about St. Cloud State University," said Marisa Adler of the SCSU Alumni Association.
According to Adler, the fair offers alumni personal benefits as well as educational.
"It's an opportunity for alumni to connect with future and present alumni, to share their experiences with others, and to promote the college in general,"Adler said.
The booth will have many fun and educational activities throughout each day of the event. Both artistic and mathematic activities will be offered, including the featured mathematics teams, "Fractals and Chaos."
There will also be representatives from Career Services, and Admissions Ambassadors on hand to answer any questions. A visit from the Husky hockey team is also possible.
The Alumni Association is seeking volunteers to help run these and other activities in the booth.
"Activity volunteers will be responsible for facilitating their activities in a 2-3 hour block," Adler said.
According to Adler, an attractive SCSU polo shirt and a State Fair ticket will be provided to all volunteers.
