85 malnourished dogs seized from farm in southwestern Minnesota
The Minnesota Federated Humane Society seized 85 malnourished dogs Tuesday from a family home in Sanborn, Minn.
Amelia Odegaard's Brown County farm was raided and authorities removed the dogs due to lack of clean water, food, proper shelters and open sores and internal and external parasites.
None of the dogs appeared to be in a life-threatening condition. Most of the dogs were abandoned or given up by families who couldn't keep them.
Odegaard said that she loved them all and wouldn't ever hurt them. She has 10 days to request a hearing and post a bond of $6,500 or the dogs will be put up for adoption. The dogs varied in breeds, ages and mentalities are being held at the MFHS shelter and the Minnesota Army Reserve in St. Peter.
