Twins to play in AL Champsionship
The Minnesota Twins are coming home to open a most unlikely AL Championship series.

Brad Radke pitched six and 2/3 dominant innings to beat Oakland again and the Twins survived a late rally to top the Athletics 5-4 Sunday in the decisive Game 5 of their division series.

Facing consecutive elimination games, the Contraction Kids won 11-2 at the Metrodome on Saturday, then crossed half the continent to win the tense clincher about 30 hours later.

The Twins, who ran away with the AL Central, will face Anaheim in the ALCS beginning Tuesday night in Minnesota. The wild-card Angels shocked the four-time defending AL champion New York Yankees in the division series.

Young woman found dead in home
A young Minneapolis woman was killed Saturday morning in an apparent domestic dispute in her apartment in south Minneapolis. Family members identified her as Erin Colleen Shelton, 20.

She was found dead shortly after 11 a.m. in her apartment. Her 3-year-old son was not in the apartment when his mother was killed. He had spent the night with his paternal grandmother.

Police said they arrested a 19-year-old man at the scene who gave an address in the same block. Relatives said the couple had been dating, but it was unclear whether they were living together. Family members said Shelton had been shot in the forehead once at point-blank range.
