The SCSU soccer team earned a 4-1 victory over Augustana College Friday on a muddy Halenbeck Field.

The Huskies were aggressive offensively, outshooting Augustana 13-4. Captain Jenny Ganser scored SCSU's first goal, unassisted, at the 18:39 mark. Jenny Gill then scored her third goal of the season at 32:34 into the game, off an assist by Sarah Regnier, making the score 2-0.

Augustana bounced back at 42:50 when Lindsey Gerdes connected with Kylie Tamke, cutting the deficit to only one goal.

SCSU's defense would hold strong the rest of the game, making sure that Tamke's goal was the last. Melissa Regnier scored her second goal of the season for the Huskies at 63:34, off a Ganser assist, and Kelsey Mills stuck the nail in the coffin with her first career goal at 76:36, assisted by Abbey Frederickson. SCSU goaltender Stephanie Brendel had an impressive outing with eight saves.

The win gave the Huskies a 6-3-1 (1-2 NCC) record, while Augustana fell to 3-8-1 (0-2 NCC).
