World Series dreams over for Twins
The Twins' amazing season ended Sunday when the Angels beat them 13-5 in Game Five. The Anaheim Angels will advance to the World Series for the first time in franchise history.
The Angels set League Championship Series records by exploding for 10 runs on 10 hits in the seventh inning. Adam Kennedy put the Angels ahead to stay with his third homer of the game, a three-run blast with no outs in the seventh.

Kennedy is the third player to homer three times in an LCS game.

Teachers reach agreement in strike
The teachers in International Falls have approved an agreement that will give them a five-and-a-half percent salary increase for the 2002-2003 school year.

The agreement covers the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school years and includes added insurance benefits for both years. It does not have a salary increase for the 2001-2002 year. Negotiators for the teachers and the International Falls School District reached an agreement that ended the three-week-old strike on Saturday.

International Falls teachers walked out in a dispute over wages and health insurance, forcing the district to cancel classes and after-school activities. They had been working without a contract for over a year.

The district has about 1,500 students and about 100 teachers. The school board is scheduled to act on the agreement on Thursday.
