St.Paul Police losing cars to arson The St. Paul Police Department warned officers to step up precautions Friday after two new incidents brought the total number of arson attacks on department property in the past two weeks to 13.
Patrols were increased at police stations and a $20,000 reward was offered for information on the arson fires, which have caused at least $100,000 in damage and burned 13 cars.
Late Thursday night and early Friday, arsonists firebombed a police substation. Last week, two squad cars and four private cars belonging to officers were destroyed after being set on fire at the Highland Park substation. On Tuesday, at a city garage on Energy Park Drive, seven squad cars were damaged when a rope dipped in gasoline was placed across them and ignited.
Fans injured during Bow Wow show Several concert-goers suffered minor injuries Saturday night when a railing gave way at the Target Center in Minneapolis as fans pressed forward during a performance by the rap artist, Bow Wow.
About 10 people were transported by ambulance. The most serious complaints seemed to be of lower leg pain and of back pain. Four people were being treated for minor injuries late Saturday.
The railing gave way as Bow Wow worked his way into the crowd about 10 p.m. near the end of his show. A crush of people pressed against the railing as he neared Section 111.
The railing was about 12 feet long and 5 feet off the arena floor. It snapped in three places, causing fans to fall forward.
