Pregnant woman gives birth; dies
A pregnant woman who was injured when her car was involved in a collision with an Apple Valley squad car last week died Friday after her baby was delivered. Her husband remained in critical condition Sunday night.

Kathryn Burg, 28, who was driving the car, died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Her husband, Russell Burg, 31, who was a passenger in the car, is warded at Regions. The Apple Valley couple's baby was in serious condition but is expected to survive, a nursing supervisor said.

The cause and manner of Burg's death were not specified, pending results of an autopsy by the Ramsey County medical examiner's office Sunday afternoon. Their car and an unmarked Apple Valley squad car collided in the intersection of County Road 42 and Galaxie Avenue, which is controlled by a traffic light.

Young man shot to death in Fridley
Investigators were searching for two suspects in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man in Fridley early Sunday morning.

Anoka County sheriffs said Fridley police were called to an apartment shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday and found the victim, who appeared to have been shot and possibly stabbed. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where he was pronounced dead. The man's name has not been released.

The suspects are believed to be a 24-year-old Brooklyn Park man, and a 25-year-old St. Paul man who knew the victim and had been at the apartment for a short time before the victim was killed.
