Strike force arrests four for robbery
The Minnesota Gang Strike Force arrested four people Friday who are believed to have robbed a south St. Cloud apartment earlier this week after tying up the resident with duct tape.

Arrested are Curvin Raymond Dixon, 20, of St. Cloud; Christopher Michael Moore, 29, also of St. Cloud; John Arthur Myles, 18, of Waite Park; and a 17-year-old St. Cloud boy. All are in Stearns County Jail and are expected to be charged with first-degree aggravated robbery and false imprisonment.

Police believe that the four arrested had a prior relationship with the victim. Police recovered property believed to have been stolen, as well as the gun used during the robbery.

Off duty state trooper shot in neck
A State Patrol trooper was shot in the neck yesterday while driving off duty through Swift County outside of Benson.

Trooper Charles Backes was driving his personal car on Minnesota Highway 9 when the bullet entered the driver’s side and lodged in his neck. He was talking and in stable condition Sunday night.

His fiancee, who also was in the car, was not struck. Backes was able to pull the car over and eventually was flown to a Fargo hospital, where doctors said the bullet missed his artery and windpipe.

It was not immediately known where the bullet came from. Authorities were trying to locate hunters who were in the area at the time of the 4 p.m. shooting.
