Council confronts minors

There are two worlds that exist after bar close. In one, intoxicated students scatter the streets and attempt to stumble home or to an after hours party. Those students under 21 often wander aimlessly from one house party to another. In the second world, families, working citizens and early risers are trying to sleep, unwind or just relax.

Professor tells of recent anti-war trip to Iraq

Dr. Elizabeth Leppman, who teaches in the geography department at SCSU, just returned from Baghdad where she attended a symposium on peace.
As President Bush tries to push his agenda forward for a possible war with Iraq, millions of Americans are opposing the war. More U.S. troops are being ordered to the Persian Gulf, and many of these Americans feel that Bush is no longer for the U.S., but for his administration.

New program announced

The Psychology Department at SCSU will, for the very first time, offer a graduate program scheduled to begin this coming fall.The department will be offering a Master of Science degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Industrial-Organizational Psychology (I-O) is the use of psychological principles to understand the behaviors at a workplace to increase productivity of the workplace.

Events will honor black history

This coming February will mark the annual celebration of Black History Month and like previous years, SCSU will be hosting a series of events to honor this historical month.The events, co-sponsored by the Multicultural Student Services and the Council of African American Students, will be held on campus beginning Feb.

NOVA Week spreads violence awareness

The 14th Dalai Lama said, "Our action has a universal dimension, a potential impact on other's happiness...Spiritual qualities of love, compassion, patience, tolerance and forgiveness so on provide both for our happiness and other's happiness."

In what seems to be a society of ever-escalating violence, there is a need for nonviolent alternatives.

Ruling will affect colleges
