SCSU online system crashes The SCSU online computer system malfunctioned Monday and was unable to be fixed until Wednesday.
The crash effected faculty and staff e-mail transactions and calendar access. The transaction log database was corrupted, which resulted in an all system crash. The problem was not a virus.
Many of the e-mail transactions made during the three-day period were lost. However, almost all of the lost transactions have now been recovered.
J.C. Turner, associate dean of Learning Resources and Technology Services, said that the problem has been identified and steps have been taken to prevent a similar scenario. He also noted that there is little chance for another system malfunction of its kind.
