Missing Eau Claire student found dead Autopsy results confirm a body found in a lake Tuesday night in Eau Claire, Wis., is that of a missing university student.
Eau Claire Deputy Chief Gary Foster said there was no sign of trauma on the body of 22-year-old Michael Noll. Foster said the cause of death is drowning.
Twenty-two-year-old Michael Noll had been missing since November. His body was seen through thin ice Tuesday night on Half Moon Lake about 6 p.m.
Police pulled the body from the lake about 90 minutes later and called Noll's family in Minnesota. Noll's father, Jeff, confirmed the body was his son.
Noll said officers found his son's wallet on the body, and the clothes also matched the description of what Micheal Noll was last seen wearing.
National Guard troops withdrawn In a surprise announcement, Gov. Pawlenty said National Guard troops will be withdrawn from Minnesota's nuclear plants and a Twin Cities water treatment facility.
The extra security was posted last week as war began in Iraq.
The governor said that security patrols will be picked up by local police and sheriff's departments.
