Ben Stein wins over students

Actor and game show host Ben Stein entertained SCSU students Monday night in Halenbeck gymnasium. The event was sponsored by the University Program Board.
Humorist Ben Stein enthralled a crowd of 850 at Halenbeck Hall Monday night. Stein, a political humorist best known for his game show on Comedy Central, spoke for almost an hour and covered every topic imaginable: parents, children, college and how to ruin your life.

Local talent to be shown

For all those students sad to see the Oscar season end, there is good news. The magic of the silver screen continues beyond "the big night," and can be enjoyed without all the hoopla of Hollywood. New and future filmmakers will soon have an opportunity to exhibit their work as a number of annual movie events are set to take place right here on campus.

Company earns mixed reviews

Tuition is rising yet again, and many college students are struggling to pay for school. One option that many students are tempted by is a company that offers a minimum of $7,000 and the chance to build a resume.Southwestern Company is a book selling company that recruits college students to sell a wide variety of educational books all over the country.

Ani D. could benefit from 'evolution'



It's nice to hear from the title of Ani Difranco's new album that her music is evolving. If the title suggests a change from her blend of guitar-driven gripe lyric vehicles, it would be a welcome change. However, this style can still be found on the album questionably titled "Evolve.
