Bloom had been co-anchor of the weekend editions of 'Today' since March 2000. Prior to joining 'Today,' he was the network's White House correspondent and its correspondent in Los Angeles.

Hotel at Ground Zero re-opens
The last piece of scaffolding was taken off the outside of the Hilton Millennium across the street from the World Trade Center.

The company has spent $31 million rebuilding and refurbishing the property that is scheduled to reopen next month.

A third of the Millennium's windows were smashed by the attack that destroyed the trade center. The hotel spent months languishing under the dust of the twin towers.

Hilton vice president Roger Swadish said it will accommodate visitors to the financial district and many of the thousands of tourists who still come to the site.
