2 U.S. soldiers killed; Republican Guard leader nabbed in attacks
Published:
Thursday, July 24, 2003
Two U.S. soldiers died in attacks in Iraq Wednesday despite the killing on Tuesday of Saddam Hussein's two sons and hopes that the resistance to U.S. occupation would fade. The U.S. assault on the leadership of the old regime continued with the arrest of a senior Republican Guard leader.
The house where Odai and Qusai Hussein were killed was a scene of devastation Wednesday. Neighbors said they had no idea the two men had been holed up inside for 23 days.
