U of M Extension to come to St. Cloud
Published:
Thursday, July 24, 2003
Beginning next year, the University of Minnesota Extension Service will operate regional offices in St. Cloud and 17 other communities. By only placing U of M agents in select counties, the amount the service spends is expected to be considerably reduced.
The Extension staff tentatively plans to work with 4-H clubs, master gardeners, lakeshore management volunteers and family relations programs.
Each of the offices on the 18 sites will have 10 university staff members and are expected to open in January 2004.
When extension officials first announced they were restructuring to accommodate budget cuts, more than 100 communities vied for the offices.
