Pawlenty sends off local troops
Gov. Pawlenty stopped at the St. Cloud Armory - the U.S. Army Reserve's 367th Engineer Battalion headquarters - Saturday, to send off soldiers preparing for active duty. Nearly 200 soldiers were present as the governor spoke. He referred to them as heroes and offered words of hope and thanks.

The governor also made stops in Duluth and Mankato where the 367th Engineer Battalion has other companies. The soldiers will be on active duty for 18 months. They will train in Wisconsin before going to Asia to support Operation Enduring Freedom.

The St. Cloud Times reported that this nearly 600 soldier unit is the largest Army Reserve unit in Minnesota to be mobilized since 9/11.

Identity theif buys car, gets caught
Anthony Dorsch was arrested this weekend after St. Cloud police caught him driving a vehicle he purchased under another man's name and credit information. Police responded to the identity theft complaint Friday.

The victim said someone - who turned out to be Dorsch - stole his personal identity information and used it to buy a new 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer from McKay's Family Mitsubishi in St. Cloud in December. Dorsch fraudulently obtained credit information and financed the car through Wells Fargo Auto Finance using the victim's name. Police investigated and the vehicle was located and impounded. Dorsch was arrested and is being held at the Stearns County Jail.
