Fake Clinics signs
I'm writing regarding all the "Fake Clinic" signs throughout campus and in an Atwood display case with a big circle and slash through it.

I will say that I am pro-life, but it is the particular message that bothers me about these signs. The message pro-choicers are trying to send out is that if a clinic is pro-life and only suggests non-abortion options, it is in fact not a clinic at all.

They tell you to "beware" of these clinics because they will show you "shocking" pictures and videos to try and deter you from an abortion. All these clinics really show are real photos and videos from abortions so women can decide if that is something they want done to their body and "that glob of cells" that strangely takes the shape of a baby.

By saying these pictures and videos are "shocking" pro-choicers are only helping to prove the horrors of abortions. What people should really know is that most clinics that discuss abortions actually recommend them because the sad truth is that abortions are a huge industry. They recommend abortions without informing women of the true facts about abortions, such that the vast majority of women that get abortions feel deep regret afterwards and deal with depression, according to many different studies.

If a clinic is opposed to a particular method of dealing with pregnancy, why should they be forced to suggest it? However, if they do choose to recommend abortion, they should fill in the patients with all the facts instead of simply telling them abortion is the quickest and easiest answer to all of their problems.

Kerry stands for what and who?
As informed voters of SCSU, we should be asking ourselves "What do our presidential candidates stand for?" Most people know Bush's stance on issues, but what does Kerry stand for?

Kerry's stance worsens the American economy and makes survival harder for the average America; despite his claims to the contrary. Kerry's proposed government programs raise taxes for the average American by around $1,500 per year. Kerry needs to take an economics class that points out theory and history, proving that raising taxes worsens our economy. The average American doesn't have $1,500 extra per year to give to Uncle Sam.

Kerry supports the war in Iraq, as does Bush. Contrary to what impression some people may have, Kerry voted in support of the October 2002 resolution to declare war on Iraq if Saddam did not produce weapons of mass destruction; he has not changed his stance since.

Kerry has mixed opinions about gay and lesbian marriage and unions. He claims to be a supporter of gay rights yet has repeatedly stated that he does not support gay and lesbian marriages.

Kerry claims he wants to protect America against special interests groups, yet per federal records, he has accepted more lobbyist special interest money than any other senator in the last 15 years.

With these stances, why do students at SCSU even think about supporting Kerry? Why would we want to change America for the worse and support a leader who conflicts words and actions?

St. Cloud favors Kerry over Bush?
Thursday's (March 8 Chronicle)headlines read: "St. Cloud favors Kerry." My question is two-fold. First, why did this horribly biased headline even run? Why not "St. Cloud Democrats favor Kerry." Or "Kerry sweeps the liberal caucuses." Instead, the abundantly attended Republican caucuses were ignored and a one sided, not surprisingly liberal, headline previews the Chronicle yet again.

My second issue with this is simply with Lurch himself. John Kerry's America has declining jobs, higher taxes (on everyone), no military, and worst of all, John Kerry's America is a prime target for further terrorist attacks. Declining jobs is almost a standard of Democrats, especially a Democratic senator voted, even by the most liberal of sources, as "the most liberal senator in the U.S." Job decline stems from his ignorant socialist agenda. That means high taxes to create government jobs that are short-term perks for long term economic declines; which also thwarts all technological breakthroughs.

John Kerry's America will be one without any military force. While he is a Silver Star veteran, in his post Vietnam era he has done nothing but cut military projects and tirade against them. John Kerry has voted against the F-14, the F-15, the F-16, Abraham tanks, Patriot missiles, smart bombs and a score of other standard military utilities. He has stabbed America's defense in the back.

Therefore, if John Kerry wins the election in November, the terrorists will have won. Lurch will never endorse security spending in America. He would instead only raise taxes ON EVERYONE, and use his Big Brother mentality to frivolously spend it away on useless programs ignoring the mounting terrorist threat in the world. He would rather have sat down and apologized to Osama. I certainly hope that St. Cloud will favor Bush in the coming decision, instead of a waffling backstabber like Lurch.

A male view of female beauty
Beauty is the quality that gives pleasure to our senses. Unfortunately, I have come to realize that a typical male's perspective of beauty is measured mostly by hotness, sexiness, skinniness, blondness and so on.

But isn't beauty much more than physical characteristics? Of course, but try convincing a typical guy of that! To me, a female's beauty is what is on the inside. But, inevitably, males typically look outside the box and seldom dare to jump right in.

Some days I wish I were blind, only to give me a chance to praise women by what they have to say and not by their looks. I can listen to, "She's pretty hot," from various males, for only so long. My hope is for those males out there that judge only on looks, to realize that what females have to offer, besides their looks, is a far greater gift than beauty; it is an ecstasy, an eye-opening glimpse to their hearts.
