The Paramount, located in downtown St. Cloud, is home to several different acting, musical and performing arts groups from the surrounding area. Sunday Sept. 25, however, the historic venue will be getting some new acts.
In coordination with Muse Magazine, Zepicon Productions and Paramount Arts District, Earth Mother Mind Jam is proud to present One World Festival.
The Paramount will be the epicenter of the festival, with shows from many different artists and performers from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. 'After-jams' will play into the wee hours at several local hot spots. The Oasis Gallery, the Rox, Bo Diddley's and Electric Fetus are among the venues for the after jams.
Lalita Subrahmanyan, Jess Braun, Buddwa Mambos, Felonious Bosch, Coarse Music Club, Filling a Void, F.I.R.E., EUFIO, D.B. Curtis, GST, Andy Furcht, Everyday, Hanz Erickson, Yawo, Tim Thole, Zander Villayne, Mary Swank, and The Hot Wasabis are among the many artists performing at the One World Festival.
Along with the shows, there will be several demonstrations and workshops at the event. Ranging from ceramics, wing making, painting, tattoos, belly dancing, yoga and even Hobo folklore, the possibilities for learning are endless.
One more section in the vast spectrum this festival covers will be artist booths located at many different locations. Festival attendees can shop the booths for handmade and original artwork including cards, paintings, sculptures, ceramics and clothes.
Ralo, the festival's producer, is very excited about One World.
"It's a multicultural, multigenerational, multimedia independent music and arts festival," Ralo said. "It's the first time anything like this has happened in St. Cloud."
The One World Festival is a chance to get "Unity in the Community," which is their motto.
"We set the tickets at such a low cost to promote students, families and everyone else to just come and experience the diversity," ralo went on to explain. "There is no reason why people couldn't come just to experience it."
"They are going to have a blast," Ralo said. "They can explore something new and help open their minds to new and different music and art. Bring the baby, bring grandma; there is something for everyone."
Tickets are $10. Children under 12 free with adult (some events 21+). Tickets are available at the Paramount Box Office, Al's Music, Cheap Thrills, Electris Fetus, Movies Etc., SCSU Atwood Memorial Center and Book-Ems.
