Thursday, October 28, 2004
The SCSU University Program Board presents "Atwood After Dark," starting on Oct. 29 from 9 p.m. to midnight.
"Atwood After Dark" is a new event series that is created for students to participate in free activities one Friday night a month at Atwood.
The first "Atwood After Dark" includes activities with a spooky theme. There will be a costume contest, cookie decorating and a pumpkin decorating contest for your Halloween enjoyment.
Karaoke with a professional DJ will provide entertainment in the Atwood Quarry. There will be a psychic fair, featuring tarot card and palm readers in the Atwood Main Lounge. Free bowling and billiards will occupy active students in the recreation center.
Scary movies will be shown in the Atwood Theatre beginning with "Equilibrium" at 8 p.m. The film "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" will follow at 10 p.m.
Free food will keep energy levels high throughout the night.
Prizes that will be given away at the event include lower level Incubus tickets, $25 Husky Buck gift certificates, and many other gift certificates to SCSU and local establishments. You must be present to win any prize.
"Atwood After Dark" is sponsored by Pepsi, Atwood Memorial Center, the Department of Residential Life, and Freshens Smoothie Company. Freshens will be open during the event, offering $1 discounts on any size smoothie.
Two more "Atwood After Dark" events will be presented Nov. 19 and Dec. 10. Details will be announced soon.
