Real issues face alumni
Published:
Thursday, November 4, 2004
I am really surprised by all of the alumni that are complaining about a man being homecoming queen. Especially the reference to applying for a job and having someone bringing it up. I think that there are other issues with SCSU and the community that are much more serious than this.
A few months ago I was sitting in a drug training class put on by the Denver Police department. The office was presenting a tape on raves that was produced by a local Minnesota TV station. The program showed an undercover video of raves held in Somerset Wisc., the Medina ballroom and one held at the National Hockey Center at SCSU. While I know the tape was slightly outdated, I sat back and laughed with my co-workers about how when people left they would see my SCSU window sticker on the back of my Explorer.
If alumni want to be upset about something, it should be more important then the homecoming queen.
